A houndstooth boyfriend blazer, a noun, and a business plan walk into a bar...
Right. So I'm obviously not a comedian. But hopefully I've at least piqued your interest! Allow me to illuminate how three seemingly disparate lines of work came to be one.
My interest in the creative space came from my mama! But really, it did, and even before that, my Baba z"l. The walls of my childhood home are filled with paintings. No, not the ones that can be purchased on Overstock and delivered in 2 days. We're talking legit timeless paintings with authentic ornate wooden frames from still lifes to sunsets to poppy pastures to Van Gogh look-alikes. My maternal grandmother was quite a talented and prolific painter and my mother has painted her own impressive collection over the years. Though I never did catch the fine arts bug, I certainly have their genes to thank for my "good eye"...
I guess this eye made me pretty ok at putting together outfits. I have an eye for quality...somehow, even at discount stores, I randomly pick up the most expensive designer item on the rack. And yet somehow always manage to find the best deals. So much so that I always feel the need to buy it when I see it even if it's not in my size. OY the number of times I've purchased clothing and promised myself (and my husband) that I am going to resell it...Most of it has been either given away or is still floating around the house somewhere. For sustainability and practicality, most of my wardrobe is black and gray. People may say that makes things less fun. I just say the easier the better. I go for low maintenance and staying power. Classy over trendy always.
I also have a knack for language. Grammar rules and conventions have always come naturally to me. This knowledge and my propensity for perfectionism has naturally made me the go-to editor among friends, colleagues, and family.
And last but certainly no less important...my extensive background in education and professional experience in development combine to equip me with a keen understanding of sociology and human behavior and a marketing savvy to be able to get to the bottom of what ultimately sells and advise businesses accordingly.
Ok. So now for the fun part. Do you see it yet? Hiding behind the tree...
